Recession kills hardware startups

HARDWARE STARTUPS are dropping like flies with the average life expectacy being just nine months.
According the New York Times, a host of promising hardware companies have shut down recently including MetaRam, SiCortex, Woven Systems and Quadrics. All of them died young because they were short of cash or a buyer.
With so many good outfits shutting their doors, it must be really spooky for those who are still investing in what they think will be the next big hardware thing, the Times says.
