The estimated jackpot for the Mega Millions lottery game has swelled to $330 million, according to the Texas Lottery.
The next drawing in the multi-state lottery will be Tuesday night.
“Due to extraordinary sales for the New Year’s Eve Mega Millions drawing, we are able to increase the jackpot to a much higher level,” said Texas Lottery Executive Director Gary Grief in a news release.
“This is exciting for us and especially exciting for our players, who
now have an opportunity to win an estimated $330 million for just a $1
play.”
Mega Millions is sold by 42 lotteries
across the country. The highest lottery jackpot in history was a Mega
Millions jackpot of $390 million in March 2007. Texas has had eight
Mega Millions jackpot winners since joining the game in December 2003.
