(CBS) It was a jam-packed weekend for royal newlyweds Prince William and Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge.
The couple, who married on April 29, first participated in Saturday's Trooping the Colour ceremony, the official celebration of Queen Elizabeth II's birthday (Britain's monarch turned 85 in April).

William wore the same Irish Guards uniform he wore on his wedding day, while Kate chose a double-breasted cream coat by Alexander McQueen, paired with a black hat.
The Duchess of Cambridge waved to the crowds from a horse-drawn carriage, where she sat with Prince Harry, Prince Andrew, Duke of York and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall during the ceremonial procession from London's Buckingham Palace to the Horse Guards Parade. Prince William rode behind them on a gray horse.
The couple also appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony, the same spot where they kissed for the crowds on their wedding day.
Later that afternoon, Kate joined her sister, Pippa, for the wedding of Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Sam Waley-Cohen. She wore the same hat, but paired it with a black-and-white patterned dress.
On Sunday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge headed to Windsor to celebrate William's grandfather's birthday. Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, turned 90 on Friday.

A service was held at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle in honor of Philip's service to Great Britian and the queen. Other royals in attendance included Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Harry, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall.
According to People magazine, William and Kate arrived in a vintage Rolls Royce. The duchess wore a blue brocade coat with a matching hat, while William sported a blue suit and red tie. The prince was photographed holding an umbrella over his wife's head until they reached the chapel entrance.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds attended a canape-and-drinks reception, which was followed by a private lunch for the British royal family.
And as if those events weren't enough, William, 28, and Harry, 26, also participated in a charity polo match on Sunday.
The brothers lead opposing teams at the Sentebale Polo Cup at the Coworth Park Polo Club near Ascot, Berkshire. The event raised funds for Sentebale, the charity Harry founded to help disadvantaged children in the African country of Lesotho.
Despite the wind and rain, spectators watched as William's team defeated Harry's, 1-0. After the match, Harry hosted a dinner and charity auction to raise funds for his charity, according to the Daily Mail, while William left to join his wife at a private royal family function.
