MTV award shows are always packed with jokes and amazing performances.
This stays true for this year's MTV Movie Awards as Aziz Ansari brought
in the laughs! Our comedian started the show with spoofs of this year's
biggest films and then was given a quick introduction by Justin Beiber.
Dressed to impress in a white tuxedo jacket and a bow tie, Aziz was off
to a great start making jokes about 3-D films and Twilight.
The first award of the evening was for Best Female Performance and too
much of our surprise, Kristen Stewart went home the winner beating Oscar
winner Sandra Bullock. The evening went on P.Diddy present Anna
Kendrick with the award for Breakout Performance and she humbly accepted
by saying, "I am not cool enough for this award...thank you."
Jennifer Lopez made an appearance with a brief performance making us
want just a little more; however, the act was a memorable one as Tom
Cruise joined in dressed as Len Grossman, his
Tropic Thunder character.
The next performance came from Katy Perry. The colorful star performed
her single "California Gurls." She donned a blue wig and plenty of
rhinestones; fiancé Russell Brand watched in awe. Snoop Dogg made his
entrance and the performance was fun!

Sandra Bullock made her first appearance since her marriage took a turn
and fans were so supportive. She looked stunning in her black dress and
simple pink make-up. The crowd was on their feet as Sandra made her way
to the stage to accept her Generation Award. Sandra kept everything
light hearted by saying that she wanted to take the opportunty to
clarify a few things, "Number 1, I am not dead. Number 2, everybody has
cellulite, not just me. The paparazzi need more flattering lenses.
Whoever established the high road and how high it was going to be should
be fired. I've never gone 14 days without showering while chain smoking
while crying on the shoulder of my sweet Aunt Liddy." After a quick
smooch with actress Scarlett Johansson, Sandra wrapped things up by
saying "Can we please go back to normal?" Sandra was high spirited and
it was nice to see her back on the scene.
Aziz was back on the stage, this time he was paying homage to Avatar as
R.Kelly. With a quick synopsis of the story of
Avatar and some
jabs at BP, the crowd was laughing. Tom Felton walked away the winner
for Best Villain; Robert Pattison accepted his awards for Best Male
Performance and Global Superstar for his work in
Twilight. Then
artist Christina Aguilera took to the stage for her performance and she
delivered! With her sultry voice, sexy body, and energy, she proved
that she is back! With some high tech lights to add to the performance,
"Bionic" is now a song Christina's fans will be singing.
Aziz returned as he did a sketch as Taavon, the Swagga Coach. He
helped Zach Galifinakis from
The Hangover needed help with his
swagga, and Taavon was there to help! As the sketch ended, Zach won the
award for Best Comedic Performance. Taavon was in da house and accepted
the award bringing this sketch to an end.
As the awards show wrapped up,
The Twilight Saga: New Moon won
Best Movie and Aziz put it so eloquently by saying "What a surprise,
Twilight
won everything. Thanks for watching the show, Good Night!"
This concludes the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. Aziz Ansari started the
evening on a great note with his monologue about 3-D films versus real
films. Tom Cruise then shocked us all with his Hip Hop performance.
Sandra Bullock was able to keep her acceptance speech light hearted and
her smooch with Scarlett will have people buzzing!
