Chelsea Clinton, daughter of former President Bill
Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, will get married
July 31 in Rhinebeck.That's according to a local resident who spoke to The Associated Press
on condition of anonymity because the resident wasn't authorized to
divulge the information.
A
spokeswoman for the Clintons declined to comment Thursday.
A local caterer will
provide the food, and high school and college students have been hired
to help get the grounds into shape.
The wedding will be held at Astor Courts, constructed
for John Jacob Astor IV and his wife, Ava, between 1902 and 1904,
according to www.nypost.com.
Astor Courts occupies 50 acres on the Hudson River. Clinton will marry
Marc Mezvinsky.
New
York magazine had reported that the wedding planner would contact each
guest directly a week in advance to say where the wedding would be held.
Bill and Hillary
Clinton have visited Rhinebeck and Woodstock in recent years. The couple
live in Westchester County.
While president, Clinton visited the Franklin D.
Roosevelt estate in Hyde Park three times. And Hillary Rodham Clinton is
a recipient of the Eleanor Roosevelt Val-Kill Medal Award.
Recent phone calls the
Poughkeepsie Journal made to state police, the Dutchess County Sheriff's
Office, local hospitals and local officials turned up no information
regarding the possibility of Chelsea Clinton getting married in Rhinebeck.
