Chelsea turned up the heat after half-time and took the lead on 49 minutes through Nicolas Anelka's emphatic finish after he was played in by Salomon Kalou.
Didier Drogba converted from the penalty spot on 62 minutes after he had been tripped and the Ivorian striker created the third goal four minutes later as his free-kick was headed home by former Lokomotiv Moscow defender Ivanovic.

French champions Marseille recorded the biggest away win in Champions League history with a comprehensive 7-0 thrashing of MSK Zilina.
Marseille were ahead after just 12 minutes when Andre-Pierre Gignac's thigh deflected Benoit Cheyrou's free-kick inside the post.
Gignac capitalised on poor defending from Zilina to score again on 21 minutes and, three minutes later, Gabriel Heinze rose well to head home a corner.

The goals continued to flow after half-time as Lucho nodded home on 51 minutes before Gignac completed his hat-trick three minutes later with a brave header.
Lucho then scored his second of the night on 63 minutes before Marseille played out the remaining minutes in cruise control.

Milan were level just past the midway point of the second half when veteran striker Filippo Inzaghi was presented with a simple header after Real keeper Iker Casillas had made a hash of a cross.
Inzaghi put Milan ahead on 78 minutes, although there was a hint of offside about his goal, before Karim Benzema played in Leon to smash his shot past Christian Abbiati in the fourth minute of injury-time.

There was an element of good fortune about Auxerre's goal on nine minutes as the ball dropped to Frederic Sammaritano on the edge of the box and his effort took a deflection before curling inside the post.
Toby Alderweireld headed Ajax level with 10 minutes to go, but Langil capitalised on a quick free-kick to score Auxerre's winner on 84 minutes.
Mario Gomez helped himself to a hat-trick as Bayern Munich's 100 per cent record stayed intact after a 4-0 canter away to CFR Cluj in Group E.

Striker Gomez rounded off his hat-trick 20 minutes from time as he eluded the offside trap to latch on to Schweinsteiger's pass and roll the ball home.
Bayern claimed a fourth goal in the final minute after Altintop lofted the ball over the keeper and Thomas Muller was there first to nudge home.
