It was the night of all the African Americans
as this Sunday the 7th, all the beautiful, smart, strong, talented and
super sexy black women gathered to celebrate the power and influence of
black women in the society. The televised event kind was known as Black
Girls Rocks and it was brought to us by Black Entertainment Television.
American actress, poet, playwright, screenwriter, journalist, activist and one of the most iconic woman of America, Ruby Dee was tribute with the Living
Legend Award and was introduced by the exquisite Lynn Whitfield. “Ruby
Deerepresents everything BLACK GIRLS ROCK!? stands for,” Lynn said.
DJ Beverly Bond, the founder of Black Girls Rock organization said
that the black women of America where not being told or reminded of how
amazing they where or how amazing they can really be but the event urges
them to shout out loud that “Black Girls Rock.”
It all started with a T-shirt design during one of Bond’s DJ’ing
performance. She came up with a Tee that had “Black Girls Rock” written
on it and there was no turning back since then.
