Queen Latifah recently revealed that she only signed up for Just Wright due to the on-screen passion with Common. She plays a physical therapist and Common plays a NBA basketball star. She falls for Common’s character while helping him rehabilitate from a career-threatening injury. She revealed the challenge and opportunity this film gave her in an interview. "That's what the movie is all about. It's all about me having the opportunity to be in bed with Common. I mean, what's this all for if I can't hook that up? It's not a bad day of work. I just want everybody to know that we didn't go for an R-rating." She also admitted that behind the scenes she sometimes had to gas Common up for his hunky role. "There were certain scenes where I was like, 'Man, you're that dude. Girls throw their selves all over you. Be that dude!' Sometimes I would just pump him up, like gas, because he's so humble."
Common claims that he and Serena Williams haven't went their separate ways. The rapper/actor refutes the reports that he and the tennis star have grown apart. Rumors started flying after Common took his mother as his date to the premier of his new film Just Wright. Common revealed in an interview that he plans to cheer Serena to victory at the French Open. He says they are still together as well.

Common can't wait for the debut of his new movie Just Wright. Common acts in his first leading role alongside Queen Latifa and Paula Patton. In the film, Common kisses Paula and Latifa and inquiring minds everywhere wanted to know how that effected his relationship with Serena Williams. In a recent interview, Common was asked if Serena got angry about the on-screen kiss between Latifa. "Nah! You know i'm an actor man, I gotta do what I gotta do. Any woman that I am with is going to respect what I do. Meaning the work that I do and if i do something to disrespect them they will pull me to the side." Common adds, Serena "might be after Latifah with a Tennis Racket sooner or later."
