The troubled actress visited Los Angeles' Shamrock Tattoos parlour this week to have a line from Joel's 1989 song I Go to Extremes etched across the right side of her torso.
The tattoo reads: "Clear as a crystal, sharp as a knife/ I feel like I'm in the prime of my life."
According to gossip website TMZ.com, the Mean Girls star picked the design because it "signifies that she's focused" after a string of recent legal woes, including stints behind bars and in rehab.
Lohan already has plenty of tattoos, including a quote from Marilyn Monroe and the word 'breathe' on her wrist.
