"The only thing that's for sure is Ryan [Seacrest]," Jackson told E! News, regarding which "Idol" personality will remain on the show. "Nothing has been decided."
Jackson reportedly would not comment on the rumors that he and Kara DioGuardi are on the chopping block, but he did give his blessing to rumored replacement judge Jennifer Lopez. "If Jennifer Lopez is a judge, I would be very happy," Jackson told E! "I love her."
Jackson's vague comments are in line with the equally nonspecific statements Fox chairman Peter Rice gave to Entertainment Weekly on Monday (August 2). "No one has signed a deal on either side of the camera who wasn't on the show last year," he said, adding that "much of the information that has been written is accurate," but that some of the reports have also been "widely inaccurate."
Of the other rumored new judges — which include Jessica Simpson and Steven Tyler — the Aerosmith rocker is the only candidate who hasn't completely avoided the issue. When asked about his possible new gig recently, Tyler gave a candid, confident response:
"Probably going to be a judge on 'American Idol,' " Tyler said. "I'm doing it! What do you think?"
So what do you think? Would you watch the show without Randy and Kara? Let us know in the comments!
