NICKI MINAJ, the 25-year-old rapper who is
still yet to release her debut album, says that girls now want to kiss
and hug her following comments she made about empowering woman. MTV News
quotes the female MC as saying, "I started making it my business to say
things that would empower women,
like, 'Where my bad bitches at?' to let them know, 'I'm here for you.
Then, when I started going to the shows and it was nothing but girls, it
was like, 'Did I go too far with embracing my girls?' Because now they
want to kiss and hug me".
Minaj, regarded by many as being one of most promising up-and-coming female rappers around, is known by a number of other aliases, including HARAJUKU BARBIE, however it has sometimes led to her being criticised. In an interview with 'Out Magzine', Minaj said, "It's interesting that people have more negative things to say about me saying, 'I'm Barbie,' than me saying i'm a bad bitch".
Trinidad born Minaj impressed the live audience at the MTV Video Music Awards pre-show in Los Angeles on Sunday with an energetic performance that saw her wear a pink and purple spacesuit. The rapper signed to Young Money Entertainment back in August 2009, and her debut album 'Pink Friday', is set to be released on November 23rd 2010.
