Today in Spain, the most popular name after Andres Iniesta is Octopus Paul. The "psychic" octopus (good band name), which OD featured last week, is being hailed for having "predicted" Spain's victory over the Netherlands for the World Cup. The 2-year-old clairvoyant cephalopod also nailed the outcomes of all seven games that Germany played. His method? Choosing a mussel, his favorite food, from one of two jars bearing the flags of World Cup opponents.
Perfect Paul will retire from predictions at his home at the Sea Life Aquarium in Oberhausen. The staff rewarded him with a replica of the World Cup garnished with three mussels.
Though the aquarium has received offers for Paul, he's not for sale.
