Halle Berry is preparing to play a role in a comedy film called “Shoe Addicts Anonymous”.
Berry, an Oscar winning actress will be leading a film cast in the silver screen adaptation of the Beth Harbison novel “Shoe Addicts Anonymous”. The film, like the novel, tells a story of four women from four different ethnic backgrounds in Chicago who all share the same shoe size and are addicted to shopping for shoes.
This role will mark the return of Berry's film work and is the first time audiences will have seen her play a role since 2007 when she was part of the film “Things We Lost in Fire”

Berry_223 Halle Berry is set to play an agoraphobic shoe addict in the movie Shoe Addicts Anonymous, based on the novel by Beth Harbison, in what would mark her first comedy film in more than a decade, Deadline.com reported on Thursday.
The actress' spokesperson had no immediate comment. Berry, who has starred in films such as the X-Men movies and Monster's Ball, will play a woman who joins a support group of "sole sisters", which is made up of women from different ethnic backgrounds who share an addiction to shoes and a foot size - 7.5, the report said.

Berry will play an "agoraphobe who feeds her addiction with online footwear purchases," the website said. In the book, overweight phone sex operator Sandra Vanderslice's agoraphobia makes her tend to avoid public places. She prefers to shop for footwear on the Internet and discovers the support group after her psychologist tells her she should try to go out and meet people who share her interests.
It is unclear if the characters in the film will share the same names and characteristics as those in the novel. Berry is naturally slender.
After she films the movie, Berry plans on making her Broadway debut in the play The Mountaintop, playing a hotel maid who delivers a meal to Martin Luther King Jr. because he is assassinated, the website says.
Paul Weiland, director of the Patrick Dempsey movie Made of Honor and the British television show Mr. Bean, is directing Shoe Addicts Anonymous, which is based on an adapted screenplay by Kristen Buckley & Brian Regan, who penned the script for the Kate Hudson comedy movie How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days.
Berry last showcased her comedic skills in the films Bullworth in 1998 and The Flintstones in 1994 . One of her most recent movies was the 2007 film Things We Lost in the Fire.
Berry and model Gabriel Aubry's daughter Nahla was born in 2008. The couple said earlier this year they had split but remain close friends.
