Carlos Santana Proposes On Stage

Carlos Santana and drummer Cindy Blackman are engaged
Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana proposed to his girlfriend, Cindy Blackman, on stage at his concert in Tinley Park, Illinois on Friday.
Blackman, a 50-year-old drummer and jazz percussionist, has worked with Lenny Kravitz and Cassandra Wilson. She accepted the proposal and kissed her fiancé while the fans cheered.
Santana said in a statement to MTV News, “Cindy and I are blessed to have found each other. Being in love is a gift from the universe, and the spirit and vibrations that come with it are infinitely powerful. I look forward to expressing that incredible energy through my music, and in helping to tip the balance toward more love in the world with what Cindy and I share."
The proposal occurred after Blackman joined Santana for a drum solo during the song "Corazon Espinado."
He is two months into his Universal Tone Tour and is currently planning to release Guitar Heaven: Santana Performs the Greatest Guitar Classics of All Time in September, which is his first studio album in six years. The tour will continue in late September in Europe for a month.
The couple's wedding plans have not been released yet. This will be Santana’s second marriage. His first marriage to Deborah Santana lasted 34 years. She filed for divorce in 2007.
